Duties and Responsibilities:

Under the direction of the Financial Assistance Supervisor, the Eligibility Specialist is responsible for the implementation and conduct of departmental procedures in determining the eligibility and ongoing eligibility of clients for multiple income maintenance programs in accordance with county, state and federal rules and policies applicable to each program. Duties include providing assistance to clients in addressing barriers to self sufficiency; provides education, enrollment and assistance to managed care enrollees; and assists clients in making referrals to social service programs of the County or other community resources.

Minimum Requirements:

Requires a minimum of a High School Diploma and 3 years prior clerical, customer service or related duties preferably in a human service capacity working with public/clients; or an equivalent combination of education and experience necessary to perform the work.

Requires a valid driver’s in the State of MN.

 

 

Desirable Training and Experience:

Experience preferred in Computer software including Microsoft Office, Teams, Adobe etc. Human Services software applications and programs. Knowledge of human service functions and programs. Additional relevant training, seminars, certifications, and courses. Customer service, public experience. Records management and data practices experience.
